Nicoya Silvestre: A haven for nature, an encounter with the authentic

At Nicoya Silvestre, we believe that tourism can be a positive force for nature conservation and the well-being of local communities.

We were born with the dream of helping the Gulf of Nicoya become a vibrant ecotourism destination, where the extraordinary biodiversity of the tropical dry forest, the Gulf's landscapes, and the richness of the local culture are valued, enjoyed, and protected for future generations.

Located in Cabo Blanco de Lepanto, on the Nicoya Peninsula, we are part of the Peninsular Biological Corridor. From here, we seek to offer authentic experiences that allow our visitors to discover a lesser-known Costa Rica, connect with nature, and contribute to its conservation.

Our story: From farmland to a biodiversity haven

The land where Nicoya Silvestre is located today is part of a region historically dedicated to cattle ranching and agriculture. Over time, the natural ecosystems of the tropical dry forest have faced increasing threats, including forest fires, hunting, the expansion of monocultures, and real estate development.

Faced with this reality, we decided to take a different path: protecting and restoring the forest, reclaiming spaces for wildlife, and demonstrating that conserving nature can also generate opportunities for local communities.

We have planted and cared for more than 200 native trees, promoting the recovery of vegetation and creating better conditions for the birds and other species that inhabit our reserve.

Today, Nicoya Silvestre is a place where visitors can hike trails, observe birds, discover the flora of the dry tropics, enjoy beautiful viewpoints overlooking the Gulf of Nicoya, and relax surrounded by nature.

Tourism that contributes to conservation

We believe in ecotourism that goes beyond visiting a beautiful place. We want every experience to be an opportunity to learn about, appreciate, and protect the ecosystems that make this region unique. The income generated by our tourism activities contributes to the maintenance and protection of our private nature reserve, while our commitment to local tourism seeks to create opportunities and strengthen the region's sustainable development.
