Our Vision

Nicoya Silvestre was founded with the vision of helping the Gulf of Nicoya become a vibrant ecotourism area, where the unique ecosystems of the dry tropics and local culture are valued and preserved, and its communities develop in harmony with the natural environment.

Our History:

The property that houses Nicoya Silvestre is located in an area formerly dedicated to livestock and agriculture. Currently, the region's natural landscape is threatened by monoculture farming, forest fires, hunting, and real estate development. In this context, our efforts are directed toward protecting the natural ecosystems of the tropical dry forest, which is now very rare in the world. We have planted and cared for more than 200 native trees and are committed to ecotourism as our main activity to generate resources that allow us to maintain our private nature reserve. We also seek to encourage more people to understand and appreciate the ecosystemic beauty of the area and thus actively participate in its protection.
